Of Silk and Stone
After All Hallow's end, the Big Top has left New Lynnford.
The townsfolk now back home on their mortal plane ponder the unexpected visit from the Stranger and what consequences shall arise from their involvement in his games. The Aja whom worked for the carnival have remained in town to search for their clan, as some of whom are missing.
As well, a few wild elves calling themselves the Cluster have been spotted wandering around the spider caves on the outskirts of town. Why any would encroach on these collapsed caves is a mystery, but sounds and movement can be heard at night when most are asleep.
With the new faces seen in town also comes a familiar chill in the air. The winds blow through the trees bringing snow upon it's inhabitants. Farmsteads nearby herd their flocks inside and gather firewood in preparation for a cold winter. Various merchant caravans carve their way down the snowy paths toward town in hope of trade and warm meal.
Even with the arrival of all the newcomers, the Green Wolf tribe numbers are fewer within their encampments. They inform those concerned that Chief U'jak has yet to return from his meetings with the other leaders of ally tribes, this unfortunately leaves the remaining Green Wolves and the town to make their own decisions.
Amongst all the movement and bustle of town, the dwarven clockwork is spotted roaming the outskirts of the surrounding woods. What is it she is searching for? Why is she drawn toward New Lynnford?
Winter is upon us, and many questions hang frozen with no apparent answers.
But there's always an answer. . . One just needs to ask the right question.
